Program Overview

Our Spring Program offers creative learning opportunities in Art, Crochet, Dance, and Music. Participants can explore new skills in a welcoming, community-focused environment. Classes are open to students in grades K–12. All levels are welcome, and instruction is designed to help strengthen skills at each student’s level. Classes are available individually or as bundled packages for added savings.

VISUAL ARTS

SPRING CLASSES: Starting April 7th I Every Tuesday

Art (2D & Live Drawing)
Cultivating Vision, Skill, and Creative Discipline
This season, we embrace the theme “Bloom Into Spring,” guiding students through a creative journey inspired by nature. Students will receive step-by-step instruction, including an introduction to papier-mâché techniques.
In the first half of the session, students will develop their drawing skills by observing and sketching real plants, including two visits to the East Chicago Park Department Greenhouse for live drawing and inspiration.
In the second half, students will create their own papier-mâché pots and receive seeds to plant—bringing their creativity to life from concept to creation.

PIANO & MUSIC THEORY

Music (Piano & Music Theory) Cultivating Vision, Skill, and Creative Discipline
This spring, students will be introduced to the fundamentals of piano, vocals, and music theory. Building Musical Excellence and Performance Mastery, the Music & Vocal Program combines disciplined technical training with expressive artistry. Students learn that musical excellence requires consistent practice, theoretical understanding, and precision.
This class is designed to strengthen vocal ability while developing foundational piano skills, musical expression, and performance technique. Students will explore rhythm, harmony, and stage presence while working collaboratively to prepare songs for performances and special events.

CROCHET

SPRING CLASSES | Starting April 8th | Every Wednesday

Crochet (Beginner)
Students will learn foundational crochet techniques while exploring the artistic and cultural significance of fiber arts. Through guided, level-based instruction, participants develop fine motor skills, pattern-reading ability, and design awareness at a pace appropriate to their experience.
Students will complete hands-on projects such as flowers, granny squares, hair scrunchies, and round coasters, building confidence as they see each piece come to life. The course emphasizes craftsmanship, creativity, and completion, teaching students to carry a project from concept to finished product.
This program is designed to grow students’ skills through progression, making it a perfect creative experience for the spring season.

Cultivating Vision, Skill, and Creative Discipline The Visual Arts Program provides comprehensive, structured training that builds both technical mastery and conceptual understanding. Students develop visual literacy, craftsmanship, and the ability to communicate complex ideas through artistic expression. We approach visual arts as both a discipline and a language — one that requires study, practice, critique, and refinement.

Drama (Role Playing & Acting Character Building)

Students will learn the foundations of drama while developing confident storytelling and performance skills. In Drama & Theater, students build acting abilities through improvisation, character development, storytelling, and stage performance.
Participants learn how to express emotions, work collaboratively as an ensemble, and bring stories to life on stage. This class focuses on building confidence, creativity, and strong public speaking skills in a supportive and engaging environment.

Music (Vocal & Choir)
This summer, students will be introduced to the fundamentals of vocal training, including discovering their unique vocal tone and developing proper singing technique. Students will learn breath control, pitch accuracy, vocal projection, and tone quality while building confidence in their voice.
Participants will explore harmony, rhythm, and musical expression while singing both individually and as part of a group. The class also focuses on stage presence, listening skills, and ensemble collaboration, preparing students for performances and showcases.

Music (Drums & Beats)
Students will learn the foundations of rhythm, drumming, and beat-making while developing musical timing and coordination. This class introduces core percussion techniques, including basic drum patterns, tempo control, and rhythmic variations. Students will explore different styles, speeds, and musical patterns while learning how to keep time, create beats, and perform both individually and as a group. Emphasis is placed on listening skills, discipline, and musical expression. Through hands-on practice, students will build confidence, improve coordination, and develop a strong sense of rhythm that can be applied across all areas of music and performance.

LIVING FITNESS

Living Fitness – Adult Fitness Class Living Fitness is a weekly adult fitness experience designed to strengthen both your body and your mindset. This class goes beyond a traditional workout by combining fitness training, motivational speaking, and health awareness to help you grow physically, mentally, and emotionally.
